Website Design

Client: Cherries & Carrot Tops

Sector: Food - Small business

Brief: The brief was to design and build a scalable e-commerce website that supported a subscription-based delivery model while remaining intuitive for customers and efficient for a small internal team. Key requirements included:

  • Building the site on Shopify, with custom functionality beyond standard subscription setups

  • Implementing a postcode-based delivery system, where customers could only place orders on select delivery days depending on their location

  • Designing a customer portal that was simple and easy to navigate, allowing users to manage their subscriptions with minimal friction

  • Ensuring the platform supported ongoing content management, including blog posts, SEO optimisation and weekly box updates

  • Integrating the website with a route-optimising app, with seamless data transfer for delivery labels and order information to streamline fulfilment

Solution: A tailored Shopify solution was developed to meet both customer and operational needs, combining thoughtful UX design with specialist custom development:

  • A custom Shopify build was implemented to support postcode-based delivery logic, ensuring customers could only select delivery dates relevant to their location

  • Specialist coding enabled the delivery system to function reliably within Shopify’s framework while remaining flexible for future growth

  • The customer portal was designed with clarity and ease of use in mind, featuring:

    • A dislikes list to personalise weekly boxes

    • Clear visibility of upcoming weekly box contents

    • Simple controls to skip, edit or pause orders without friction

  • Ongoing website monitoring and maintenance was established, allowing for regular blog updates, SEO edits and weekly content changes to keep the site fresh and optimised

  • The site was integrated with a route-optimising app, automatically passing through order and label information to reduce manual handling and save valuable time for the small team

  • The final result was a robust, user-friendly platform that balanced a smooth customer experience with efficient backend processes, supporting both brand growth and day-to-day operations

Over time the business was sold to Perry Court Farm and the website was edited to reflect both services.
